IREL (India) Limited, a premier Mini-Ratna Category-1 Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Atomic Energy, is inviting applications from dedicated and competent Indian nationals for the engagement of apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This recruitment drive is aimed at filling multiple positions across various disciplines.

Post Details

Graduate Apprentices:

  • Chemical: B.E/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering (2 Seats)
  • Civil: B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering (1 Seat)
  • Mining: B.E/B.Tech in Mining Engineering (2 Seats)
  • Instrumentation: B.E/B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering (1 Seat)

Technician Apprentices:

  • Chemical: Diploma in Chemical Engineering (2 Seats)
  • Civil: Diploma in Civil Engineering (2 Seats)
  • Mechanical: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (2 Seats)
  • Mining: Diploma in Mining Engineering (2 Seats)
  • Instrumentation: Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering (1 Seat)

Trade Apprentices:

  • Executive (HR): MBA in HRM or M.A. in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management (2 Seats)
  • Executive (F&A): CA/ICWAI/MFC/MBA in Finance or PG Diploma in Finance Management (2 Seats)
  • Laboratory Assistant: B.Sc. in Chemistry or Ex-ITI Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant) (2 Seats)

ITI Trade Apprentices:

    • Plumber: ITI in Plumbing (4 Seats)
    • Fitter: ITI in Fitter Trade (2 Seats)
    • Painter: ITI in Painter Trade (1 Seat)
    • Electrician: ITI in Electrician Trade (2 Seats)


  • Candidates should not be undergoing or have completed apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any other organization.
  • Applicants must have obtained their qualifications through regular mode only; degrees obtained through distance or correspondence modes are not eligible.


18 to 25 years as on the last date of application. Age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC/PwD as per government norms.


Selection Process:

Selection will be based on merit, medical fitness, and adherence to the priority categories laid out by IREL. This includes candidates from land-affected families, local residents within a specific radius, and wards of IREL employees.

How To Apply

  1. Register: Candidates must register at Apprenticeship India Portal for Trade Apprentices and NATS Portal for Graduate/Technician Apprentices.
  2. Submit Application: Complete the application form provided in the notification and attach self-attested photocopies of relevant documents. The application must be sent by post to the Head of Department, HRM, OSCOM, IREL (India) Limited, Matikhalo, District Ganjam, Odisha – 761045.
  3. Documents Required: 10th certificate/mark sheet, qualifications, caste/PwD certificate, registration proof on NATS/NAPS, Aadhaar card, and others as specified in the notification.

Additional Information:

  • Candidates with higher qualifications than those specified should not apply.
  • Selected candidates will not be entitled to any employment benefits other than the stipend during training.
  • IREL has no obligation to offer regular employment post-training.
