Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is an autonomous Society under the Ministry of Power engaged in Research and Development in the fields of generation, transmission, distribution and operation of electricity supply systems.
CPRI acts as an apex body for initiating and coordinating applied research in electrical power engineering assisting the electrical industry in product development and in Quality Assurance.
CPRI also serves as an independent Authority for Testing & Certification of power equipment. The CPRI Head office is situated at Bangalore and its units are at Bhopal, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Noida, Kolkata, Guwahati and Nasik.

Qualification
BE/B.Tech with First Class in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Metallurgy / Civil /Chemical Engineering /Computer Science with an aggregate minimum of 65% or 6.84/10 CGPA. Candidates applying with qualification of AMIE should have 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 in Section B alone (Qualifying of AMIE candidates will be regulated as per MHRD Order No. 11-15-2011-AR(TS.II) dated 6.12.2012.
Candidates enrolled for AMIE up to 31.5.2013 and completed the course are only eligible).
The candidates applying for the post essentially shall possess a valid GATE score for the year 2019/2020.
Age Limit
30 Years
The upper age limit is the age as on the last date prescribed for registration of online application i.e. 06.11.2020. The age limit mentioned for the post is the normal age limit and for reserved categories, the upper age limit is relaxable as per Govt. of India norms.
The upper age limit for Departmental candidates with three years of continuous service in CPRI is 5 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed for the post.
Job Description
Testing and performance evaluation of power apparatus as per National & International standards. To take up research projects in the relevant areas, consultancy work, Operation & Maintenance, and supervision.
Selection Procedure
The selection is on the basis of their valid GATE Score (2019/2020) in the order of merit. CPRI reserves the
right to fix the cutoff GATE score for ranking.
