Job Description and Qualifications

Purpose

To deliver safe, fit for purpose civil / structural designs to an agreed schedule to meet a pre agreed budget.

Nature and Scope

The job holder is one of the key members of the design team having responsibility for the civil and structural design. Based on the execution strategy the job holder will be responsible for civil and structural design on projects along with the lead civil / structural engineer.

DIMENSIONS
•Responsible for ~ 2000 C&S drafting man-hours pa.
•A civil & structural designer shall have the responsibility for generating structural GA and detailed steel drawings for fabrication along with concrete drawings.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Safety and rigorous adherence to relevant specifications and standards for all C&S designs. Accountable for the safety and engineering scope adherence in accordance with project specifications & standards.
•Implementation of quality procedures and contribute to continuous implementation of improvement activities.
•Responsible for developing detailed structural steel drawings – pipe racks, technological structures, buildings, platforms & ladders, supports etc.
•Developing architectural drawings for buildings.
•Generate all concrete drawings on a project.
•Maintain BSP targets and LSO compliance

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

•Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and work experience of 5 – 8 years.
•Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills
•Experience comparable with the grade in a relevant industry.
•Must be familiar with an engineering organization, the function of each discipline and how they interact and the function of the various support groups globally.
•Experienced working to IS and global codes, preferably US & Euro codes
•Experienced working with software such as Microstation
•Experience in generating steel and concrete drawings for foundations, buildings and steel structures.
•Experience and knowledge to effectively communicate issues and ideas effectively.
