Eligible Indian citizens and candidates belonging to categories recognized by the Government of India can apply online through the official CGPSC website. The online application process will begin on 13 May 2026 and will remain open until 11 June 2026.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in the relevant discipline from a recognized university or institution.
The required engineering disciplines include:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
For the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil), General Administration Department, equivalent qualifications such as AMIE Part A and Part B may also be considered as per the rules mentioned in the official notification.
Candidates must possess the required educational qualification certificate on or before the last date of online application.
Age Limit
The age of the candidate will be calculated as on 1 January 2026.
Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 30 years
However, for local residents of Chhattisgarh, the upper age limit is relaxed up to 40 years as per the state government rules.
Additional age relaxation will be applicable for reserved categories, women candidates, ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities, and other eligible categories as per Government of Chhattisgarh rules.
Application Fee
The application fee is as follows:
For local residents of Chhattisgarh belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and PwD categories: ₹300
For all other candidates and candidates from outside Chhattisgarh: ₹400
In addition to the application fee, candidates will also have to pay portal charges and applicable GST.
Selection Process
The selection process may include:
- Written Examination
- Interview
If the number of applications is high, CGPSC will conduct a written examination followed by an interview.
The written examination will include two objective-type papers:
Paper 1: General Studies
Number of Questions: 150
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
Marks: 300
Paper 2: Engineering Subject
Candidates will have to choose one subject from:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering

There will be no negative marking in the examination.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in each paper.
General Category: 40%
SC/ST/OBC Candidates: 30%
If the selection is done through direct interview, the interview will be conducted for 100 marks. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by the Commission.

- Raipur
- Durg-Bhilai
- Jagdalpur
The Commission may increase or reduce the number of examination centres depending on the number of applications received.
