Eligibility Criteria
Executive Engineer
For the post of Executive Engineer, candidates should have a Graduate degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. In addition, they should satisfy one of the following conditions:
- Holding analogous posts with the same pay scale in the parent cadre with experience in civil works, or
- Serving as Assistant Engineer (Civil) with 7 years’ experience in civil works in Level-7, or
- Serving as Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) or equivalent in Level-10 with 4 years of regular service in the grade.
Assistant Director (Official Language)
For the post of Assistant Director (Official Language), officers from Central Government, State Government, or Union Territories should meet the service eligibility requirements and educational qualifications prescribed in the notification. The academic requirement broadly includes a Master’s degree from a recognized university with combinations involving Hindi and English either as compulsory or elective subjects or with one as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.
In addition, candidates should have 3 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Use or application of terminology, especially technical or scientific terminology, in Hindi and translation work from English to Hindi or vice versa, preferably in Central or State Government departments, autonomous bodies, PSUs, universities, or recognized research/educational institutions, or
- Teaching in Hindi and English or research in Hindi or English under Central or State Governments, autonomous bodies, PSUs, universities, or recognized research or educational institutions.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit is below 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Deputation Period
The deputation period, including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately before this appointment, shall not exceed three years. The notification also notes that the initial deputation period may be regulated as per the applicable DoPT rules.
Important Conditions

- Officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation.
- Deputationists are also not eligible for appointment by promotion.
