2. Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering, Bengaluru (RVCE)

Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering is a private technical co-educational college located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Established in 1963, RVCE has 11 departments in engineering, one school in architecture, and a Master of Computer Applications department.

The Department was established in the year 1963 with the UG program (B.E.in Civil Engineering) and is one of the oldest branches of RVCE. The department has been imparting quality education to meet the technological advancement and industrial requirements.

3. BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru (BMSCE)

B.M.S. College of Engineering is an autonomous engineering college in Basavangudi, Bangalore, India. The college, started in 1946 by B. M. Sreenivasaiah, was the first private sector initiative in technical education in India and is run by the BMS Educational Trust.

The Department of Civil Engineering was one of the three branches started when BMS college of Engineering was established in 1946. In the past seven decades, the department has seen a lot of progress in academics, research and consultancy. In the year 2008, the UG program was given the academic autonomous status by VTU which enabled us to have our own curriculum to enhance knowledge, skills and attitudes in students.

The department boasts of three PG courses namely Construction Technology, Environmental Engineering and Transportation Engineering and Management. In addition, the department is recognized as a research center by VTU and as a QIP center by MHRD, which has changed the status of the department from primarily UG department to the research-based learning center. So far about 9 candidates have acquired PhD from their research center and more than 50 are pursuing PhD and MSc (Engg.).

All this was achievable due to dedicated teaching and non-teaching faculty and the support from the generous management. They have 32 faculty members both from UG & PG, of which 23 have acquired highest qualification in the form of PhD.

Their infrastructure has been state-of-the-art for which they thank several funding agencies apart from the World Bank funded TEQIP and the ever encouraging management. Quality of students and their achievements in curricular and co-curricular activities have branded our department as a leading center of learning, not only in India but also abroad. In the year 2014, the National Board of Accreditation, India has given them Six years of accreditation under Tier-I (Washington Accord) recognizing our academic accomplishments.

University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering was established in 1917, under the name Government Engineering College, by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, and was then affiliated to Bangalore University. It is the fifth engineering college to be established in the country.

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology is an autonomous engineering college on Outer Ring Road, Nagarbhavi, Bangalore, India. Founded by M.H.Jayprakash Narayan in 1979, and named after Dr B. R. Ambedkar, the institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and is accredited by AICTE.

Department of civil engineering is one of the oldest departments in Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology. The Department offers BE Degree course apart from M.Tech degree course in Structural Engineering. The department has staff strength of 20 faculty members, of which eight faculty members already have PhD degree and another six members are pursuing their PhD. The department is strong in fields of Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydraulics and Water Resources, Geotechnical Engineering and Remote Sensing and GIS fields. It has well established state of the art laboratories viz. CAD Lab, Building Materials Testing Lab, Environmental Engg. Lab, Geotechnical Engg. Lab, Survey Lab and Highway Engg. Lab.  About 340 B.E. and 36 M.Tech. Students are pursuing out their academic programme in the department.
