A total of 460 apprenticeship training positions are available for engineering graduates, non-engineering graduates, hotel-management graduates and engineering diploma holders. Eligible candidates must attend the walk-in selection drive scheduled for 25 July 2026 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
The apprenticeship will be offered under the Apprentices Act, 1961, as amended in 1973. The training period will be one year. Graduate Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹12,300, while Technician Apprentices will receive ₹10,900 per month.

About Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre is the lead centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation for the design and development of launch-vehicle technology. VSSC undertakes research and development in areas including aeronautics, avionics, propulsion, materials, structures, mechanisms, vehicle integration and space-transportation systems.

The 100 General Stream positions are intended for training in administrative functions such as administration, finance and accounts, and purchase.
Graduate Apprentice Educational Qualification
- Engineering applicants must hold a three-year or four-year engineering degree, including lateral-entry qualifications, from a recognised university in the relevant discipline.
- Engineering graduates must have secured at least 65% marks or 6.84 CGPA.
- Hotel Management or Catering Technology applicants must possess a first-class degree from a recognised university with at least 60% marks.
- General Stream applicants must hold a three-year bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with at least 60% marks or 6.32 CGPA.

Technician Apprentice Educational Qualification
- Engineering applicants must possess a first-class, three-year diploma in the relevant engineering discipline from a State Board of Technical Education.
- Commercial Practice applicants must possess a three-year Diploma in Commercial Practice from a State Board of Technical Education with at least 6.32 CGPA.

Important Eligibility Conditions
- Only Indian nationals are eligible to participate.
- Candidates who acquired their degree or diploma before April 2022 are not eligible.
- Final-year students, result-awaiting candidates and candidates pursuing M.E. or M.Tech are not eligible.
- Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act are not eligible.
- Candidates having one year or more experience as an apprentice in any institution are not eligible.
- Combining apprenticeship training undertaken at different organisations is not permitted.
- Candidates completing five years from the month and year of passing the prescribed qualification will not be considered if the five-year period is crossed while they remain empanelled or waitlisted.
CGPA and Percentage Rules
Where a university mentions both CGPA and percentage in the degree certificate or consolidated mark sheet, at least one of the two must meet the prescribed eligibility requirement.
Conversion of CGPA into percentage will not be permitted for determining eligibility, even when a university has prescribed a conversion formula. The marks or CGPA directly mentioned in the certificate or consolidated mark sheet will be considered.
Regional Preference
Priority will be given to applicants who obtained their qualifications from recognised universities or State Boards of Technical Education located within the Southern Region of the Board of Apprenticeship Training, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry.
Candidates from universities or technical boards outside these regions may be considered only when sufficient applications are not available in a particular discipline.

How to Apply for VSSC Apprentice Recruitment 2026
No online, postal or email application is prescribed for this selection drive. Applications will be accepted only at the venue on 25 July 2026.
- Confirm eligibility for the relevant Graduate or Technician Apprentice discipline.
- Visit the notified venue in Thiruvananthapuram on 25 July 2026.
- Carry all original certificates and self-attested photocopies.
- Report for document scrutiny during the notified selection-drive hours.
- The application form will be provided after the educational qualifications and other eligibility conditions have been verified.
- Complete the application form and submit it with the required certificate copies to VSSC officials at the venue.
Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.

Candidates should carry the following original documents along with self-attested copies:
- B.E., B.Tech, Hotel Management degree, non-engineering graduation or diploma certificate, either provisional or final.
- Consolidated mark sheet for the qualifying examination.
- SSLC, SSC, AISSE or ICSE certificate as proof of date of birth.
- Experience certificate, where applicable.
- One recent passport-size photograph.
Category Certificates
- SC/ST: Valid community or caste certificate issued by the competent Tahsildar or Taluk Office.
- OBC: Valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued in the prescribed Government of India format for education or employment purposes.
- EWS: Valid Income and Asset Certificate in the Government of India format for the financial year 2026–27.
- PWBD: Disability certificate issued by the competent authority.
VSSC Apprentice Selection Process
Selection will be based on the highest marks obtained by candidates in the relevant qualifying examination, with applicable consideration for reservation categories.
Induction against the 2026–27 training positions will depend on the candidate’s position in the selection panel, the availability of vacancies and the validity period of the panel. The number of training positions may change according to organisational requirements.
No written examination has been specified in the notification. Candidates should nevertheless attend the selection drive with complete and valid documents because eligibility scrutiny will be conducted at the venue.
NATS 2.0 Registration
Selected candidates will be registered under an apprenticeship contract on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme 2.0 portal after induction. Candidates must first enrol as students on the NATS portal and keep the required registration information ready.
Completion of the one-year apprenticeship at VSSC or another Department of Space unit will not provide any right to permanent employment at VSSC, ISRO or any other Department of Space centre.
