Steel Authority of India Limited’s Rourkela Steel Plant has released an apprenticeship notification for the engagement of 1,110 trade, graduate and technician apprentices for the 2026–27 training year. The recruitment is being conducted through the Learning and Development Department under reference number L&D/Adv./APP/158 dated 17 July 2026.

The selected candidates will undergo a one-year apprenticeship training programme at Rourkela Steel Plant in Odisha under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and its subsequent amendments. The programme is intended to provide eligible ITI, diploma and graduate candidates with practical industrial exposure and structured workplace training.
The last date to register and apply through the respective apprenticeship portal is 26 August 2026. Eligible applicants will subsequently be required to attend the discipline-wise walk-in process scheduled between 1 September and 26 September 2026 at Rourkela.

SAIL Rourkela Apprentice Stipend
The monthly stipend will be paid according to the apprentice category and the prescribed rates of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
- Graduate apprentices: Rs.12,300 per month
- Diploma or technician apprentices: Rs.10,900 per month
- Trade apprentices: Rs.10,560 per month
- COPA and Welder apprentices: Rs.9,600 per month
For graduate and diploma apprentices, 50% of the stipend will be paid by Rourkela Steel Plant and the remaining 50% through the Board of Practical Training under the Direct Benefit Transfer system, subject to applicable rules.
Eligibility Criteria
