Category-Wise Reservation
Of the 102 notified vacancies, 15 are allocated to Scheduled Caste candidates, seven to Scheduled Tribe candidates, 27 to OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates, ten to Economically Weaker Section candidates and 43 to the Unreserved category.

Educational Qualification and Minimum Marks

NMDC Steel Executive Trainee Salary
Executive Trainees will initially undergo six months of training. During the training period, they will receive a basic pay of ₹50,000 per month plus Industrial Dearness Allowance according to company rules.
After successfully completing the training, candidates will be appointed as Assistant Managers in the pay scale of ₹60,000–₹1,80,000. The initial basic pay after appointment will be fixed at ₹60,000 per month.
Eligible employees may also receive Dearness Allowance, cafeteria-based perquisites, Provident Fund, gratuity, performance-related pay and other benefits under NMDC Steel Limited rules.
NMDC Steel Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection procedure consists of three stages:

The Computer-Based Test will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions related to the candidate’s discipline. Questions will be available in Hindi and English.
Minimum CBT Qualifying Marks
- SC, ST and PwBD candidates: 40 marks
- OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates: 45 marks
- UR and EWS candidates: 50 marks
Candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise for the Group Discussion and Interview, generally in a 1:3 ratio. Candidates securing equal marks at the cut-off may also be called, even when the prescribed ratio increases.
The Group Discussion topic may be discipline-specific or general. Final selection will be based on the combined weighted score obtained in the CBT, Group Discussion and Interview.
Application Fee
An application fee of ₹500 must be paid by eligible candidates. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against a future recruitment notification.
SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and NMDC Steel departmental candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Valid proof supporting the exemption must be uploaded with the application.
