As per letter number F 01-16/31/Sta./2020 dated 29.10.2024 from the Government of Chhattisgarh, Water Resources Department, Ministry, Mahanadi Bhawan, Nawa Raipur, Atal Nagar, permission has been granted to recruit for the vacant state-level posts under direct recruitment in the Water Resources Department. The recruitment will be done through a written selection examination conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CG Vyapam) for the 100 vacant posts of Sub Engineer (Civil) and 15 vacant posts of Sub Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical).
As per Circular No. 1565/F-2015-04-02007/B-4/Char dated 14.05.2024 from the Finance Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, and Letter No. F 13-1/2024/A.P./1-3 dated 31.05.2024 from the General Administration Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, instructions have been issued regarding appointments on vacant direct recruitment posts. To fulfill the backlog of vacancies reserved for persons with disabilities, the requirement of prior approval from the Finance Department for appointments under the special recruitment drive by departments has been waived off till 31.03.2025.
These posts will be filled under the Chhattisgarh Water Resources (Non-Gazetted Technical) Service Recruitment Rules, 2016 and as per the guidelines issued by the State Government from time to time.
For filling the vacant posts in the third category technical (executive) level of Sub Engineer (Civil) and Sub Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) cadre at the state level under direct recruitment, online applications are invited from eligible local residents of Chhattisgarh on the website of the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board, Nawa Raipur, Atal Nagar. Examination-related information will be available on the CG Vyapam website: https://vyapamcg.cgstate.gov.in
A detailed advertisement including the total number of vacancies and any revisions in the number of reserved posts will be available, and applications will be accepted from eligible local residents of Chhattisgarh through the same website.

Pay Scale
All positions – whether backlog or regular – for Sub Engineer (Civil) and Sub Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) will carry the pay scale of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400, under Pay Level-8 of the pay matrix.
Educational Qualifications
For Sub Engineer (Civil)

Candidates must hold a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by the State Government.
For Sub Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical):

Candidates must possess a Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution approved by the State Government.
Mode of Recruitment
As per the recruitment rules, appointments to the Sub Engineer posts will be made through the following methods:

Direct Recruitment

Through a competitive examination or selection process conducted by the competent authority.

Promotion

From among eligible existing members of the service.

Transfer or Deputation
-
From individuals holding equivalent posts in similar services, as may be specified by the government.

Note: The total number of recruits under each method (direct recruitment, promotion, transfer/deputation) shall not exceed the prescribed percentage limits mentioned in Schedule One and Schedule Two of the recruitment rules.
Recruitment Planning

For each recruitment cycle, the appointing authority, in consultation with the government, will determine:

The method(s) of recruitment to be followed, and

The number of candidates to be selected under each method.

Selection Process
-
Selection for the above posts will be done through a competitive examination, which will be conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CG Vyapam), North Block, Sector-19, Nawa Raipur, Atal Nagar.

In the event of a tie in marks, preference will be given based on the date of birth. The candidate who is older in age will be given priority.

The final decision regarding the eligibility or ineligibility of candidates for selection shall rest with the Chief Engineer, Water Resources Department, Shivnath Bhawan, North Block, Sector-19, Nawa Raipur, Atal Nagar.

The selected candidate must produce original copies of all certificates at the time of joining.

Selected candidates will be appointed only after police verification and submission of a medical fitness certificate from the Medical Board of the District Hospital.

The appointment is purely temporary in nature, and the candidate’s services may be terminated at any time as per the terms and conditions of the appointment.

The appointment is meant for the state of Chhattisgarh, and selected candidates may be posted in any district of Chhattisgarh based on available vacancies.

For caste-based reservations, candidates must submit a verified copy of the permanent caste certificate issued by a government-authorized officer at the time of document verification. After selection, it is mandatory to submit a verified copy of the caste certificate cleared by the High-Level Scrutiny Committee of the SC/ST Commission.

The candidate must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh as of the date of application. A valid residence certificate must be submitted during document verification.

Candidates currently working in government/semi-government institutions must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer during document verification.

Incomplete, unclear, or erroneous applications will be rejected without any further communication. Only applications submitted in the prescribed format will be accepted.

The number of vacancies for any category may increase or decrease depending on administrative requirements.

To verify the date of birth, candidates must submit a self-attested or gazetted officer-attested photocopy of the High School/Higher Secondary pass certificate during document verification.
