YIL Recruitment 2026 for Trade Apprentice | 3979 Posts | 03-03-2026

To promote Skill India Mission of Government of India, under Trade Apprentices Act 1961 and amendments
thereof, online applications are invited from the Indian citizens for engagement of Trade Apprentices
(Ex-ITI & Non-ITI candidates) for the 59th Batch. The total number of vacancies is approximately 3979
including 2843 Ex-ITI and 1136 Non-ITI. Importantly, the engaged Apprentices shall be imparted training in
the Indian Ordnance and Ordnance Equipment Factories, which are located in different States across India.

Qualification

Should have passed Madhyamik (class X std or equivalent) as on closing date of the online application and possess minimum 50% marks as per criteria of the concerned Board (as per the original Marksheet) and with minimum 40% marks in both Mathematics and Science.

Should have passed relevant trade test from any institute recognized by the NCVT or SCVT or any other authority specified through Gazette notification of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship/Ministry of Labour and Employment with duration as per the Trade Apprentices Act 1961 with possession of minimum 50% marks in the ITI examination. The relevant trade to be considered will be strictly on the basis of Schedule I of Apprentice Act 1961, amendments thereof, and the available vacancies in the Ordnance and Ordnance Equipment Factories.

Age Limit

Minimum age for an apprentice is 14 years and 18 years for designated trades related to hazardous industries, as per section 3(a) of the Apprentice Act, 1961, amendments thereof, and as per clause number 3 of the National Apprentice Promotion Scheme-2 (NAPS-2) issued by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship vide MSDE-5/01/2022-AP dated 25-08-2023, the upper age limit for all categories shall be 35 years.

Duration of Training

For Non-ITI and ITI candidates: Duration of Training period shall be as specified in the Trade Apprentices
Act, 1961, Apprenticeship Rules 1992, and amendments thereof. However, for ex-ITI candidates, training
period shall be as per the schedule I of Apprenticeship Rules 1992 and amendments thereof in the
respective trade.

Stipend

The minimum stipend per month shall be paid to the trade apprentices (as per the provision of sub-rule (1) of rule 11 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992). According to the Trade Apprentice Act 1961 & as per Office Memorandum (OM) DGT-36/1/2021-AP (E-38255) dated 19.09.2025, the stipend paid to apprentices per month shall be.

  • NON-ITI (Matriculation/ Xth Class Candidate)  –  ₹ 8200
  • EX-ITI (ITI Pass candidate)  –  ₹ 9600

How to Apply

  • Candidate must apply ‘online’ ONLY directly through the website: https://r ecruit-gov.com No other
    format of application shall be accepted. Candidates are required to read the instructions indicated
    in the advertisement thoroughly before submitting application.
  • Candidates must fill their personal details carefully. Candidates should ensure that their name,
    father’s name, date of birth, marks obtained shall exactly match with the details recorded in
    Matriculation or equivalent certificate etc. Any deviation found during Document Verification may
    result in cancellation of candidature and debarment.
  • Candidates are advised to indicate their active mobile number and valid e-mail ID in the ONLINE
    application and keep them active during the entire engagement process as all important messages
    will be sent by email/SMS, which will be treated as deemed to have been read by the candidates.
  • While filling up the application form through website, the applicant must be ready with the
    following –
    i. Recent clear soft/scanned copy of colour photograph (size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm taken not later than
    three months from the date of application, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be
    between 20 kb-70 kb).
    ii. Clear scan picture/images of signature by the candidate on white paper with black/blue ink pen
    (size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be between 20kb – 30kb).
    iii. 12-digit Aadhaar Card Number. The candidates not having Aadhaar Number but who have
    enrolled for Aadhaar, can enter first 14-digit Enrollment ID printed on the Aadhaar enrollment
    slip
