About NLC India Limited

NLC India Limited is a Navratna Government of India enterprise functioning under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal. The apprenticeship notification has been issued for the Barsingsar Project in Bikaner district, Rajasthan.

NLC India Apprentice Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • ITI or Trade Apprentices: Candidates must have passed the ITI examination under NCVT in the relevant trade from a government-recognised institute.
  • Diploma or Technician Apprentices: Candidates must possess a full-time diploma in engineering or technology in the relevant discipline from a recognised institution, State Council or Board of Technical Education.
  • Engineering Graduate Apprentices: Candidates must possess a full-time BE, B.Tech or equivalent degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised university.
  • Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices: Candidates must possess a full-time B.Com or BBA degree from a recognised university.

Only the educational qualifications specifically notified by NLC India Limited will be accepted. Equivalent qualifications, combined disciplines or branch combinations other than those mentioned in the notification will not be considered.

The qualification must have been obtained from an Indian university or institution recognised by NCVT, DGT, AICTE, UGC or another appropriate statutory authority, as applicable.

Passing-Year Requirement

Candidates must have passed the relevant ITI, diploma or degree examination in one of the following years:

2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.

Age Limit

  • Candidates must have completed at least 18 years of age.
  • Candidates should not have completed 35 years of age.

State Eligibility

Only candidates belonging to the State of Rajasthan are eligible to apply for this NLC India apprenticeship programme.

Previous Apprenticeship and Work Experience

  • Candidates must not have previously undergone or be presently undergoing apprenticeship training with NLC India Limited or any other organisation.
  • Candidates must not possess one year or more of work experience in any job.

Reservation of Training Slots

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD and eligible ex-servicemen categories will be implemented according to the Apprentices Act and applicable Government of India directives. Candidates claiming reservation must submit certificates in the prescribed government format.

BC or MBC candidates claiming reservation under the OBC non-creamy-layer category must submit a valid OBC-NCL certificate in the prescribed format.

Reservation for ITI Apprentices

  • Fifty per cent of the ITI training slots are reserved for candidates who passed from Rajiv Gandhi ITI, Barsingsar, Bikaner district.
  • The remaining fifty per cent of the ITI slots are available through open competition.
  • The notification provides one PwBD horizontal reservation coded HH in the Electrician trade.
  • The notification provides one PwBD horizontal reservation coded OH in the Fitter trade.

Reservation for Diploma and Graduate Apprentices

  • Forty per cent of the training slots are reserved for wards of Project Affected Persons of the Barsingsar Project.
  • Ten per cent of the slots are reserved for wards of NLC India Limited employees.
  • The remaining fifty per cent of the slots are available through open competition.
  • Diploma Electrical Engineering includes one PwBD horizontal reservation coded HH.
  • Diploma Mechanical Engineering includes one PwBD horizontal reservation coded OH.
  • Graduate Electrical Engineering includes one PwBD horizontal reservation coded HH.

If a sufficient number of eligible candidates is unavailable under the RGITI, Project Affected Persons, employee ward or category quota for a particular trade or discipline, the unfilled slots may be transferred to another applicable quota while following the prescribed reservation requirements.

NLC India Apprentice Selection Process

No written examination or interview is specified in the notification. Selection will be based on the percentage or total marks obtained in the relevant qualifying examination.

  • ITI candidates will be assessed using the percentage of marks obtained in all subjects of the relevant NCVT ITI examination.
  • Diploma candidates will be assessed using the percentage of marks obtained in the relevant diploma.
  • Engineering graduates will be assessed using the percentage of marks obtained in the relevant BE or B.Tech degree.
  • B.Com and BBA candidates will be assessed using the marks obtained across all semesters of the qualifying degree.

CGPA and Grade Conversion

Candidates awarded grades or CGPA must use the percentage-conversion procedure prescribed by their university or institution and submit proof of the conversion formula.

Where no conversion procedure has been established by the university or institution:

  • The grade or CGPA will be multiplied by a factor of 10 to determine the equivalent percentage.
  • For semester-wise marks, the average percentage from the second year to the final year will be considered, based on semester-wise averages.
  • For year-wise marks, the average percentage obtained across all years will be considered.

Candidates must enter the marks accurately. Overstatement, misrepresentation or forgery of academic information may result in disqualification.

If more than one candidate obtains the same percentage at the cut-off level, the older candidate will receive preference based on date of birth.
