The Department of Biotechnology is an Indian government department, under the Ministry of Science and Technology responsible for administrating development and commercialisation in the field of modern biology and biotechnology in India. It was set up in 1986.
The Department of Biotechnology invites applications for the post of Scientist ‘C’, Group ‘A’ Gazetted Post (Non-Ministerial and Scientific) to be filled on direct recruitment basis.

On 18/01/2019, Department of Biotechnology announced Job notification to hire candidates who completed MBBS, B.Tech/B.E, BVSC, M.Sc for the position of Scientist C.
