The organization is looking for candidates who have strong expertise in structural design, analysis, and detailing for bridges and allied civil structures, with hands-on proficiency in industry-standard design and drafting tools.

This opportunity is best suited for civil engineers who have worked on highway / metro / infrastructure projects involving RCC and PSC bridge components, and who are comfortable working with IRC and IS codes and project-specific design requirements.

• Domain Preference: Bridge / flyover / viaduct / ROB design & detailing

Role Summary (What MEIL is Looking For)

MEIL is seeking professionals who can independently handle bridge design deliverables—right from concept-level design support and structural analysis to preparation of drawings, detailing, and revisions based on coordination with internal teams and client/consultant comments.

Candidates are expected to have:

• Strong understanding of bridge structural behavior (RCC/PSC)

• Ability to work with analysis models and interpret design outputs

• Strong drafting and detailing skills for structural drawings and GADs

• Experience with multi-disciplinary coordination and revision cycles

Key Responsibilities (Detailed)

Design & Codes

• Design of bridges, flyovers, ROBs, viaducts, and other civil structures as per IRC / IS codes and project specifications

• Selection and verification of design parameters, load cases, and compliance requirements relevant to bridge structures

• Supporting design documentation and calculations as required by the project workflow

Structural Analysis & Modeling

• Preparation and validation of structural analysis models using software such as:

  • STAAD.Pro

  • MIDAS Civil

  • CSI SAP2000

• Interpreting analysis results to support safe, efficient structural design decisions

RCC & PSC Bridge Design

• Structural design of RCC and PSC bridge elements including:

  • Superstructure (girders, decks, diaphragms, bearings arrangement support)

  • Substructure (piers, abutments, foundations and associated components)

• Ensuring detailing is aligned with design inputs and constructability needs

Drawings, Drafting & Detailing

• Preparation of detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD

• Drafting structural drawings for:

  • Bridges and flyovers

  • Culverts

  • Retaining walls

  • Buildings (where applicable to project packages)

• Preparation of General Arrangement Drawings (GAD) for bridge structures

• Preparation of reinforcement detailing drawings based on finalized design inputs

Coordination & Revisions

• Modifying drawings and documents based on engineer / client / consultant feedback

• Maintaining drawing revision control and ensuring updated submissions are consistent across packages

• Coordinating with internal stakeholders to close comments and deliver on schedules

Preferred Skills (Good-to-Have)

• Proven bridge project exposure in highways / large infrastructure environments

• Strong command over IRC / IS standards and typical bridge detailing conventions

• Ability to manage deliverables within deadlines and handle multi-iteration approvals

• Good communication for coordination with design leads, site teams, and external stakeholders
