Post Details

  • Executive Trainee (Chemical)  –   17 Posts
  • Executive Trainee (Instrumentation)  –  21 Posts
  • Executive Trainee (Electrical)  –  16 Posts
  • Executive Trainee (Mechanical)  –  16 Posts

Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Chemical/Petrochemical /Chemical Technology / Petrochemical Technology /Chemical Technology & Polymer Science/ Chemical Technology & Plastic Technology with minimum 65% marks.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electrical & Instrumentation/Electronics/ Electrical & Electronics with minimum 65% Marks.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Electrical/Electrical, Electronics & Power / Electrical & Electronics/Electrical & Power with minimum 65% marks.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Mechanical/ Production/ Production & Industrial/ Manufacturing/ Mechanical & Automobile with minimum 65% marks.

Age Limit

The upper Age Limit is 26 years as on 18.03.2026 for the posts of Executive Trainee in all disciplines. However, the relaxation in upper age limit as applicable is detailed in Table ‐IV below in respect of posts which are reserved for SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL) category candidates.
  • SC/ST  –  5 Years
  • OBC(NCL)  –  03 Years
  • PwBD belonging to GENERAL/EWS  –  10 Years
  • PwBD belonging to OBC(NCL)  –  13 Years
  • PwBD belonging to SC/ST  –  15 Years

Pay Scale

₹ 60,000‐180,000/‐

How to Apply

  • Eligible candidates, who have applied for appearing in GATE-2026 in the relevant papers mentioned in table V below and received GATE-2026 Admit Card may now apply online through GAIL website https://gailonline.com for the relevant post indicating their GATE-2026 Registration Number. Relevant GATE Examination Papers, list of disciplines/branches considered equivalent to each of the above mentioned advertised posts
  • Based on the GATE‐2026 marks, candidates will be short- listed for further selection process for the position of Executive Trainee in the above disciplines. Please note that only GATE‐2026 marks are valid for this recruitment exercise. GATE marks of 2025 or prior to that is not valid.
